A4

1. Government affected me today in the sense that I found out on Wednesday I get out of school early because Obama is coming into town! Not saying that I don't like school, but this means I get more time to sleep, which is fantastic.
2. I think the person in my house who cares most about politics is my brother, Thomas. He's always talking about the election and pointing out the flaws of Republicans which is amusing. In this case yeah, he knows the most about politics because that's one of the things he truly loves and is drawn to like a moth to a flame.
3. One event that happened that's common in my generation is cliche, but the election of Obama, the first black president. Never in history did anyone think this would happen, but it did. It's safe to say our generation broke the social norms.
4. A public good mentioned in the book medical care, and one not mentioned in the book is police protection, or the right to broadcasting.
5. a. To be informed - the media
    b. Communication with those who make laws - members of the government
    c. To make judgements about those who make laws - lobby groups, such as work unions
    d. To change our minds about who creates the laws - Political parties
